Gender Equality and Health Equity Through Foreign Policy: A Progress Report

In this edition of Wilson Center NOW, we are joined by Valerie Percival, Associate Professor at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) at Carleton University and a Commissioner with the Lancet-SIGHT Commission on Peace, Justice, and Gender Equality for Healthy Societies. She is also a fellow with the Wilson Center’s Maternal Health Initiative and Canada Institute.Percival discusses her project at the Center titled “Promoting Gender Equality and Health Equity through Foreign Policy: Panacea or Fool’s Game?” The project argues that improvements in gender equality and health equity place societies on pathways to peace and provide for more stable and less corrupt governments.
